Alpine, WY Moves Closer to Moratorium on New Development

The Alpine Planning and Zoning Commission voted to recommend that the town council implement an emergency moratorium on commercial development and annexations. Vice Chair Sue Kolbas expressed concern about the fast pace of development, suggesting the town needs time to evaluate its impact. The town is still working to figure out how to formally receive the resolution, while consulting with the Town of Jackson on managing development moratoriums. A moratorium would give Alpine time to address infrastructure issues, traffic, and update its master plan, which has not been revised since 2006.
