One of the final pieces of the Snow King master plan is about to take shape. A Texas-based developer with deep Jackson connections has announced plans to build luxury condominiums on the east side of the resort, upslope from the Grand View Lodge.
The project, led by Bob Liberi and Astrea Development, will begin this summer with the first of 34 units on Upper Snow King Loop Road, a site once home to an ice climbing wall. Liberi and his partners finalized the purchase of two parcels totaling nearly two acres in October, acquiring them from resort owner Max Chapman. Chapman has been instrumental in revitalizing Snow King through a new master plan, infrastructure improvements, and the recent launch of the gondola.
For Liberi, the opportunity was a natural fit. “We’ve always dreamt of having a chance to put our stamp on developing some parcels there, so we’re thrilled,” he said. Astrea, which operates nationwide, will be making its first Jackson Hole investment with this project.
The condos will feature one-, two-, and three-bedroom layouts, designed for the luxury market with prices expected to reach around $2,000 per square foot. Ski-in/ski-out access, proximity to downtown, and expansive views of the Tetons, the Elk Refuge, and the town of Jackson will set them apart.
Construction is planned in two phases, with the first breaking ground this summer and the second to follow in the next year or two. While the buildings will complement the surrounding neighborhood, Liberi says they will bring a fresh, distinct style.
With demand for Jackson real estate high and inventory scarce, this project represents both opportunity and vision. “We’re bullish on Jackson Hole in general and bullish on Snow King in particular,” Liberi said.
